Enrolment

Fairbridge College is registered as a CARE School (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education School) under the School Education Act 1999 (WA). CARE schools exist to support young people who have been identified as being at educational risk and who are unable to engage successfully in mainstream schooling. 

Fairbridge College accepts enrolments for students in Years 7 to 12, in line with its CARE school registration.  

• Students currently in Year 6 may apply during that year for entry into Year 7 in the following school year.  

• Students already in Year 7 to 12 may apply for enrolment at any time during the school year, subject to eligibility and capacity.

• Students below Year 6 are not eligible for referral. Families, schools, agencies may make an enquiry and will be advised to re-apply when the child reaches Year 6. 

A student may be considered at educational risk if, for one or more reasons, they are unable to participate in mainstream schooling. This may include:

• Persistent non-attendance or disengagement.
• Learning disadvantage or lack of progress in traditional settings.
• Significant life risk factors (e.g. homelessness, domestic violence, chronic ill-health, pregnancy).
• Being subject to court orders or juvenile offending.

Because of our specialised role, we can only consider enrolments for students who meet the CARE eligibility criteria. 

We understand that enrolment requires families, schools and agencies to provide personal, medical, and sometimes legal information. All information is managed in strict accordance with the Fairbridge College Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and relevant State legislation. Information is only accessed by staff directly involved in the enrolment process and handled on a need-to-know basis. 

The enrolment process begins when families, schools and/or agencies of students in Year 6 or above contacting the College by email or phone.

At this point, eligible families, schools and/or agencies will be issued with:

• Parent/Carer Referral Form
• School/Agency Referral Form
• Enrolment Application Pack

• Submission of the two referrals and Enrolment Application Pack and does not guarantee enrolment. 

• Incomplete submissions are placed on hold until all required information is received.
